The Council of Ministers decided in its session, headed by Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, to appoint the Dean of the Faculty of mass communication at Yarmouk University, Dr. Khalaf Al-Tahat, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Radio and Television Corporation.  Tahat holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Qatar University in 1999; he then relocated to the USA for a master's in electronic journalism from Arkansas State University in 2011, and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 2015; He previously worked as a journalist in the diplomatic section of Al-Watan newspaper from 1999  -2002, and in the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai from 2003-2010. He specializes in security and political files and won the award for best investigative journalist in Jordan in 2003, which was organized by the Thomson International Foundation in Britain. He also covered the events of the July 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel from Lebanon as well as Al-Tahat previously managed the Yarmouk FM radio station from 2015-2018, and he now holds the position of the head of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate branch in the northern region.
